In December 2017 West San Martin Water Works had levels of coliform bacteria about the drinking water standard. You can read the first mailed notice here, the updated January notice here, and the Resolved Coliform Notice that was sent out in February here. The problem has been resolved.

The California State Water Resource Control Board regulates West San Martin Water Works for water quality.

Cross Connection

West San Martin Water Works is required by the State of California to protect the water from backflow. Customers, whose properties are deemed a threat of a cross connection, are required to have a backflow device installed. Threats on the property may include, but are not limited to, a well, a pump, fire sprinklers, and irrigation systems. Devices needs to be tested annually.
